What is a chiropractic adjustment?

The human body is incredibly fascinating and is comprised of 206 bones (270 at birth) and thousands of nerves. In fact, the nervous system is the most complex system of any organism. Due to the complicated nature of this system, it can be difficult to pinpoint where exactly the problem lies. This is where chiropractic adjustments come in.

If you have been injured in an accident, a chiropractic adjustment may be just what you need. In recent years, the demand for adjustments has risen, namely because people are beginning to understand the many benefits of this form of care. Chiropractic care encompasses a wide range of treatments, including spinal manipulation and adjustments. Adjustments are by far the most common chiropractic procedure, and something we perform on a regular basis in all of our six locations.

We help treat patients suffering from a wide range of injuries and ailments, including whiplash and other neck and back injuries. If you’ve been injured in a car accident or sustained an injury to your musculoskeletal structure, joints, muscles, ligaments, bones, or tendons in some other manner, we encourage you to contact one of our clinics. We strive to provide our patients with the type of well-rounded, personalized care they deserve. This is why we not only have five locations, but offer extended hours Monday through Saturday, complimentary transportation, and always have two doctors on-site.

What Happens During an Adjustment?

When you are injured in an accident, it can result in the bones becoming fixated or “locked”, leading to a limited range of motion. As we move and bend, the bones remain locked and prohibit our mobility. During a chiropractic adjustment at Premier Injury Clinics of DFW, one of our experienced chiropractors will apply pressure to the joint in order to restore motion and free up the locked vertebrae.

In many cases, the joints above and below the affected joint are also compromised, becoming hypermobile in some cases. A chiropractic adjustment will restore motion to the joints, promoting health and functionality to the rest of the body.

When combined with passive and active modalities, a chiropractic adjustment can provide the patient with immediate relief. The goal of this form of treatment is to find the root of the problem and eliminate common symptoms, such as:
